Before you start
Retention removal cannot recover a deleted image. Exported and recipient copies remain outside the app's cleanup.
Follow these steps
- Open Settings, Privacy and storage.
- Find Keep photos for in Storage.
- Choose 1 day, 7 days, 30 days, or 90 days.
- Read the choice before leaving the page.
- Keep any separately exported copies under your own retention controls.
Cleanup runs when the app can perform it
The setting does not guarantee erasure at an exact clock moment. A visible receipt can outlast its attached photo, and cloud or shared copies need separate handling.
